Fall Away, 2020
acrylic on canvas
134cm x 66 cm
A people as one, whole, now woven together in memory. With nature as a home, realities can be unforgiving. Etched into the spaces known as home, they will always be one. We see the symbolism of connection even in the disparity of falling away, through the interwoven leaves, and the leaves as roots below.
Bindi Waugh’s unique style is informed by her Indigenous heritage as an Iman and Bundjalung woman. Bindi’s creativity expands beyond the canvas across an array of disciplines from pottery to poetry and commercial illustration.
