Veronika's works are informed by a foundational scientific background. Inspired by the Byfield Grevillia (grevillea venusta), this piece emulates the hardy, tolerant species with "spunk". With flowers forming spidery coils, Veronika has portrayed these unexpected, explosive colours with vibrancy.
Born in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, Veronika Zeil is a self-taught artist and has explored art through a variety of media. Her drawings, paintings, mosaics, sculptures, short stories and poetry explore our psyhcological relationship to surroundings, the unstable interface of nature and culture, human frailty, and search for place. The works journey from the seemingly mundane to a discovery of the lyrical in our everyday life. In 2011, Veronika was admitted to Monash University on merit and graduated in 2013 with a Masters of Visual Art.
